Excess Underwriting changes the game

February 03, 2022

PRESS RELEASE

February 3, 2022 (Toronto)… Today, Excess Underwriting, a Gallagher company, announced that it is expanding its insurance offerings to Canadian brokers by aligning with GameDay Insurance. GameDay, originally a stand-alone Gallagher managing general agency (MGA), will now report directly into Excess Underwriting, allowing brokers to access both the GameDay and Excess Underwriting suite of products.

“By aligning with the MGA strategy, we can create new opportunities for our broker partners when it comes to servicing this important segment in the Canadian marketplace,” said George Longo, President, Excess Underwriting. “It’s important to support our broker networks by expanding our product and solution offerings. The sport and recreation industry is a growing market with unique risks, and GameDay products play a key role to ensure Canadian organizations and instructors have their risks covered.”

The new offering, to be branded GameDay: Sports and Recreation, was created to address a gap in the Canadian amateur sport and recreation marketplace. GameDay products are designed to meet the needs of brokers and their recreational sports associations, organizations, and instructor clients by providing coverage for sporting and leisure events, participants insurance, associated travel, and entertainment risks.
